Federal Business Development Lead Details

His/Her duties will include:
- Overseeing the build-out and growth of our rapidly developing public sector U.S. Federal Government sales channel
- Leading the development of the short and long-term sales strategy as well as the organizational design, annual budget process, forecasting, revenue targets, and go to market strategy for the sales channel
- Monitoring the progress of sales, and reviewing records/reports provided to senior management
- Overseeing the organization, promotion, and orchestration of all sales activities to ensure the success of the channel to achieve and exceed revenue and growth targets
- Defining and recommending new products and services for market opportunities
This position is preferred to be located in the Greater Washington D.C. area.
Experience & Education
- Lead business development and client management efforts within a customer focus area including initiating calls to prospective clients, preparing capability briefings and information packets, conducting client meetings to uncover, create opportunities that lead to new business and expand relationships
- Lead BD/Capture activities to identify, qualify and create new business opportunities
- Manage preparation and distribution of product information sheets, brochures, and capability briefings
- Assist in setting pricing based on scope, duration, and skills required
- Prepare and deliver white papers and proposals that address customer requirements
- Working with project management, facilitate customer kick-off meetings, client status meetings, and quarterly business reviews
- Work with company program managers to identify and pursue follow-on opportunities
- Work with company management to establish a budget for the business/functional area
- Serve as the customer advocate during reviews to bring the voice of the customer into planning and strategy sessions
- Attend workshops, trade shows, and seminars to maintain a deep understanding of market segment and customer environment
- Utilize CRM and opportunity funnel tools to develop and execute customer engagement and capture execution
- Other BD and supervisory related duties as assigned
- Experienced with targeting accounts, building and executing account plans
- Professional networker that is skillful in establishing rapport and building relationships
- Strong analysis, reasoning and communication skills
- Experience selling in the IT Services industry
- Bachelor’s degree with 7 to 9 years of professional experience in marketing, inside sales and outside sales
Additional Requirements
- Required attendance at all pipeline reviews, sales team meetings, and all bid/no bid meetings
- Attend appropriate marketing and sales networking events
- Support Teaming Agreements for Federal client bids
- Initiate and execute marketing and business development strategies
- Knowledge of and experience managing IDIQ, MAC, BPA and GSA schedule contract vehicles
- Must have experience with tools such as Govwin, FBO, GSA eBuy and Salesforce (preferred but not required)
- Knowledge of DoD (Sec of Defense and other DoD agencies), Army, Air Force
- Knowledge and proficiency in Homeland Security and Veterans Affairs preferred
- Commuting and travel required
